This saturday, August 29th, Nike 6.0 is releasing their new wakeskate film Aquafrolics. It will be available in its entirety to watch and download at: nike6.com/aquafrolics. That’s right kids, a full length film for free.

With the NIke 6.0 “Air Mogan Mid Wake” and the “Cush Wake” having arrived recently, you may wonder… Is the season really about to start.  Well… for much of the country, the season is well under way and the reviews on these bad boys are coming in. 

Nike 6.0 Air Mogan Mid Wake shoe

Although this shoe has the profile of a mid skate, the Air Mogan Mid Wake can ride like a low by simply not using the ankle strap… Or should I say “use” the ankle strap for fashion rather than function. Either way, with the majority of the Upper being made of Nike’s Open cell mesh, the Nike 6.0 Air Mogan Mid is super light, super flexible and barely feels like any thing is on your feet.  Perfect for wakeskates with foam tape.

Nike 6.0 Cush Wake Shoe

A little less wake and a little more skate, the Nike 6.0 Cush Wake is going to be more friendly for those who desire Plentifull water expulsion while using traditional grip tape on their wakeskates.  Although the Cush Wake is a low top, the use of more traditional suade and Nubuk upper with the minimum of Open cell mesh, give this Nike more support than the Air Mogan Mid.

The bottom line here…. Nike, the goddess of victory, would be proud of these shoes that carry her namesake.

Nike 6.0 Wake’s Raging Pull * Oct 11th *Steel’s House

Raging Pull is back, bringing the shred to Steel Laffertys backyard on Oct 11th. Brought to you by Nike 6.0, Raging Pull is an open-armed day celebrating wakeboarding and its community. We are inviting one and all to ride, enjoy a big ol feast, and meet the 6.0 wake team. What does Steel have to say about it?

Raging pull is going to be so INSANE that my mom said she is too scared to come.

Silas and the 6.0 crew will be pounding nails all week to build never seen before shred features. If you saw the last Raging Pull or Bens current ad, you know these guys are capable of some jib-tastic rail creations. Steels custom-wrapped Mastercraft will be one of three boats on-hand along with a slew of sleds and a custom winch for towing. Wakeboards, skates, and lifejackets will be available,compliments of Liquid Force.

Besides a waketastic day Big Pappas will be slinging BBQ, beats will be spinning throughout the day followed by a live performance by FL band Finland.

Save your gas money and hop on one of the complimentary buses departing from Performance Surf and Ski located in Orlando and Steel’s high school Westminster Academy. Details below.

Originally from Ullapool, Scotland, and now based in Orland, Florida, 20-year-old Adam Errington lit a fire under the worldwide wakeboarding scene this year. A fierce personality matched with precision riding skills, Adam bashed competitive boundaries with his consistent, technical and aggressive riding, taking a top-five place in all of the King of Wake events this year, and scoring the 2007 Rookie of the Year title. Look out for Adam as he finishes the ‘08 contest season, and blazes through the New Year into a collaborative video project for ‘09.

Nike 6.0 Wake Nick Taylor

What’s the difference between Nick Taylor and the rest of the wakeskating world? Only Nick can call himself the 2008 Wakeskater of the Year.

Nick received the award at the fifth annual Wake Awards, which were voted upon by a panel of wake industry heavyweights. Nick was honored by the wake community for his continual pursuit of game-changing innovation.

Another guy who’s innovative to the fullest is 6.0 wake photog, Josh Letchworth, who earned Photographer of the Year at the awards ceremony.

Nike 6.0 Air Zoom Cush Shoes – Boulder StoneThe 6.0 athletes are ADD, impromptu, shred-loving fiends twenty-four/seven. Being spontaneous means being ready at a moment’s notice. As demanded by the 6.0 athletes, the Cush is built for serious performance, with a “less is more” approach. They took out all the bulk and over-techy features to focus on the basics.

Nike 6.0 Air Insurgent Shoes – Midnight Fog/Ozone

Inspired by clean lines and any terrain from the water to the streets, the Air Insurgent will keep you looking hot in the fall’s cooling air. Spencer approved for skate, snowshoe, and bmx. Features include:: durable TPU overlays and hidden lacing system, grippy plus/minus tread with cushioning pods, and excellent heel impact absorption.

“The Wall build was an idea myself and Josh Letchworth came up with to add a different look to our sport,” explains 6.0 wake mentor Silas Thurman. “We wanted something different and new. Greg Necrason came over and built the Wall for us in Josh’s backyard. The idea was to have a studio-style shot. We didn’t want anyone to recognize the area and have a spot that every kid would want to hit.”

What they created was a secret spot that worked perfectly as a stage to highlight some of wake’s most revolutionary riders doing their thing for the world to see. “It was one of those ideas that you talk about and usually goes nowhere,” says Thurman, “but this one did and actually worked out exactly how we had talked about.”

If you want a Wake Wall of your own all you have to do is run out to your nearest hardware store, pick up a few dozen sheets of plywood, bust out the hammer and nails, paint the whole thing black and, voila, you’ve got yourself your very own Wake Wall.

Better yet, run out and get a copy of Alliance or Wakeboarding Mag to see the Wall in all its glory.

The event kicked off at 8AM on Saturday and went all day until 6PM that night. Nike 6.0 supplied all the prizes for the competitors, and tons of free swag for everyone else.

Nike 6.0’s Pro Wake Skater Ben Horan showed up to help judge and sign autographs for the fans!

The Heart and Sole Air Nike 6.0 Cush is the love-child of Alkaline Trio’s irrepressible creativity and Nike 6.0’s relentless pursuit of innovation.

“We chose red and black as the main colors to reflect our Chicago roots and pay homage to the Bulls. We are huge fans,” said Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. “I’m also into sneakers, so seeing the Swoosh and our logo on one product is unbelievable. The shoe looks amazing and provides some insight into who we are.”

The Heart and Sole Nike 6.0 Air Cush and a limited run of messenger bags will be released June 27th exclusively at Jacks Retail Shop in Huntington Beach. Alkaline Trio recently kicked off their summer tour in support of their new album “Agony and Irony” and the release of the shoe. The Nike 6.0 Heart and Sole Air Zoom Cush will be available at select retailers nationwide on July 11th. (Editors Note: Same day as the IPhone 3G will be released.)

The shoe pops with custom reflective details and bike-tread inspired graphics, which symbolize the band’s early days in Chicago where they worked as bike messengers. The Heart and Sole Cush is also constructed of all synthetics, which was of utmost importance to the vegetarian members of the band.

When the Heart and Sole Air Zoom Cush drops, the Alkaline Trio will be in the midst of a summer headlining tour in support of their highly anticipated new album “Agony & Irony,” in stores July 1st. Check out Alkaline Trio’s MySpace page for the entire tour schedule.
