Nike 6.0 Wakeskaters Build “The Great Wall of Wake”

You’ve probably seen it gracing the pages of Alliance and Wakeboarding Mag this month and asked yourself what in tarnation is that thing? It’s the Wake Wall and it’s the latest and greatest innovation to come out of the NiKE 6.0 think tank.
“The Wall build was an idea myself and Josh Letchworth came up with to add a different look to our sport,” explains 6.0 wake mentor Silas Thurman. “We wanted something different and new. Greg Necrason came over and built the Wall for us in Josh’s backyard. The idea was to have a studio-style shot. We didn’t want anyone to recognize the area and have a spot that every kid would want to hit.”
What they created was a secret spot that worked perfectly as a stage to highlight some of wake’s most revolutionary riders doing their thing for the world to see. “It was one of those ideas that you talk about and usually goes nowhere,” says Thurman, “but this one did and actually worked out exactly how we had talked about.” Read more…
