Liquid Force Wakeboards is announcing that it has acquired the assets of Straight Line from the Yoshida Group. Straight Line has been the #1 manufacturer of quality wakeboard and water ski ropes and handles for twenty one years, and has a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and delivery. In recent years, they have developed the B2 bushing rope fastening system, the LPL quick and easy fill system and the ergonomically designed carbon wake handle which has kept them on top of the market. However, with many of the Wakeboard Brands, Liquid Force included, launching their own rope and handle lines, it has made it difficult for Straight Line to grow the past few seasons. Design a rail and submit your drawings to Liquid Force on or before April 11^th. The rail can be just about anything you want but must be suitable for either the TSR Cable Lake or Boat Lake. We want you to go wild, but keep in mind that it has to be done within a realistic budget and if it is designed for the cable lake, safe for the general public to utilize it (For questions regarding feasibility of designs, and budgets relating to the rails, contact Blake@TexasSkiRanch.com). We want your rail to be creative but we need it to be possible for riders other than Shane Bonifay to be able to hit it. The winning designer will receive a trip to Texas Ski Ranch for the 6^th annual Cablestock event. For TJ, slopestyle seems to come naturally, evident in his slopestyle win at the 2004 U.S. Open, the first contest he ever entered. Stef Tor joins Stephanie Wamsley in the Exclusive Kick Flip Club: Last month Stef with an “f” joined Steph with a “ph” in the exclusive club of female wakeskaters doing kick-flips. Stephanie Wamsley and Stef Tor are still paving the way for women’s Wakeskating and are adding to their bag of tricks every month.

A huge win for Nike 6.0 Wake as last year’s Rookie of the Year, Nick Taylor, is named Wakeskater of the Year by Alliance Wake.

This fall, Nike 6.0 athletes were busy harvesting an abundance of medals and awards. Ryan Dungey was voted AMA Motocross/Supercross Rookie of the Year. Dungey had a killer beginning to the year, winning the Atlanta Supercross, followed by Indianapolis, Detroit and Vegas. A broken collarbone put him on the sidelines for the last few events, but that didn’t stop the masses from recognizing Dungey as a force to be reckoned with.

In BMX, Mike Spinner won the AST Dew Tour Trick of the Year for his 1080 at the Portland stop, the first ever in a competition, and finished 2nd overall in the Dew Tour Cup standings for BMX Park.

Three Nike 6.0 Surf athletes, Nat Young, Evan Geiselman and Riley Metcalf, were named to the US Surf Team. They have the chance to represent their country next year in the 2008 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in France. And congrats Nat, for your hometown win at the Coldwater Classic Oakley Pro Jr. in Santa Cruz, and to Riley Metcalf for scoring his first cover on the fall issue of Mundo Rad. Insane.

Shane Bonifay talks about Wakeboarding, Liquid Force and the wakeboarding industry. Shane wants to clean up Lake Powell in 15 years if he is broke and unemployed.
