Getting Up

Starting on a wakesurf board is almost identical to getting up on a regular wakeboard. At first the large size of the board can prove awkward, but with a little practice it will become second

*First, set the length of the rope to 15 feet or so.

*Get in the water and float on your back with the board between you and the boat. You should hold the handle just as you would when wakeboard, with a loose grip and your arms out straight.

*The rope will run between your feet towards the boat and your heels will be resting on the board.

*As the boat idles to take the slack out of the rope, gently push down on your heels to lift the toe side edge of the board up in the air. The force of the water pressing on the board will keep it in position.

*Signal the driver that you’re ready, and as the boat pulls you out of the water stand up just as you would on a wakeboard. You should come out of the water much quicker, and with less work.

*Once up, edge off to the side of the boat that you will be riding on. For regular (left foot forward riders) this will be the port side of the boat. The opposite is true for goofy foot riders.
