Nike 6.0 Wakeskaters Build “The Great Wall of Wake”

August 14th, 2008 by Spencer

You’ve probably seen it gracing the pages of Alliance and Wakeboarding Mag this month and asked yourself what in tarnation is that thing? It’s the Wake Wall and it’s the latest and greatest innovation to come out of the NiKE 6.0 think tank.

“The Wall build was an idea myself and Josh Letchworth came up with to add a different look to our sport,” explains 6.0 wake mentor Silas Thurman. “We wanted something different and new. Greg Necrason came over and built the Wall for us in Josh’s backyard. The idea was to have a studio-style shot. We didn’t want anyone to recognize the area and have a spot that every kid would want to hit.”

What they created was a secret spot that worked perfectly as a stage to highlight some of wake’s most revolutionary riders doing their thing for the world to see. “It was one of those ideas that you talk about and usually goes nowhere,” says Thurman, “but this one did and actually worked out exactly how we had talked about.” Read more…

Wakeside Contributes to Season of Service

August 12th, 2008 by Courtney

This summer we were given the opportunity to participate in Luis Palau’s Season of Service by donating sandals to the homeless. We donated over 100 pairs of flip-flops to homeless families in Portland. 224 feet will now have some new sandals to beat the heat in downtown Portland.

The Season of Service was created as a partnership with city governments, service agencies, and the local community to identify and provide resources to service projects for the homeless, the hungry, the medically uninsured and impoverished, the environment, and the public schools. The City of Portland will showcase their nationally recognized “Homeless Connect” program at CityFest during August 22nd-23rd.

As a company, we continually strive to be socially responsible and are always looking to contribute to various social causes.  Check out Portland’s CityFest Site to see what you can do to help out:: http://www.portlandcityfest.com/season_of_service.

CWB Onset Wakeskate Bi-Level (Stu Shinn Pro Model)

August 8th, 2008 by Spencer

AllianceWake: The CWB Onset Wakeskate is a very different design. It is different than any other board out there. Instead of the traditional bi-level this board has foam in between the two decks. This helps in a lot of ways. First it gives you more snap off the water when ollieing. Secondly the foam helps support the top deck so it won’t snap. It also really helps with landings by giving more cushion so that it absorbs the impact a lot more. The bottom deck is pretty much the traditional 3-stage rocker while the top deck is different. The concave is short and steep so there is a big flat spot your foot can fit in very comfortably. The concave is nice cause for flip tricks it flips super easy; your foot catches the side concave and the board just flips right over. I ride the S out of this board all day, every day!!!!

The CWB Onset Wakeskate is IN STOCK

2009 Liquid Force S4 Wakeboard (Phillip Soven) Spy Shots

August 8th, 2008 by Spencer

The Liquid Force S4 Wakeboard is Phillip Soven’s 4th pro-model design before the age of 20, which is really a testament to what type of rider and R&D asset Phillip’s become to Liquid Force.  His previous boards have become staples within the LF line, so in the making of his new board Phillip wanted a supercharged high performance machine.  The Liquid Force S4 is the evolution of the PS3, newly designed to be a consistently smooth and forgiving ride with more juice and firepower behind it than its predecessor.
